time flies when you’re having fun

June 22, 2006

or in my case, when you’re doing some last minute concept review for USMLE Step 1 (in case I never said the whole name of the test I’m taking tomorrow).
I’m gonna go watch some soccer at the Pointe in a little while, to try and relax a little (but still do some concept reviews at halftime). I am looking forward to tomorrow afternoon like you wouldn’t believe.
And then, i’m going with katie’s family to St. George on Sunday for a whole week — i’m gonna buy Ken and Mr. Jordan some raw oysters and we’re gonna sit and eat them with lots of tabasco so we don’t get all sorts of Vibrio infections (see I’m integrating vacation with learning). And really, it’s a week at the beach before my OB/GYN schedule starts. Supposedly it’s 9-5 with one call day per week (a 24hr shift) — this information comes from an older student on this post — if you want to look up my other rotations, feel free. Not as much complaining on that message board as you might think (it’s run by the MCG 2007 class).

Things you should do today:
follow the USA/Ghana world cup match (USA has to win or they’re out)
Simultaneously follow the czech/italy match (italy has to win, or czech has to win by a ton and we have to beat ghana by a ton).
Skip out on work and go to Dantanna’s/Taco Mac/the Pointe to watch the aforementioned games
call me and ask me a question from any disease on this website http://www.emedicine.com (not really, but if you want to do that feel free — i’ll tell you everything I know about it)
if you’re Jonny, go to a 10pm belated birthday dinner with your parents
order some free pamphlets from the Federal Reserve about economics (from here) and then share them with me

this is Dr. Ganapathy and he’s on my mind today while I’m studying (brilliant biochem and physiology professor, he could probably teach the whole first 2 years’ curriculum)
