while we’re updating SPEL logs
I got some pressure to update this blog and tell you all what I’ve been up to:
1. USMLE step 1 was friday june 23rd (feels a distant memory, until scores come back later this month)
2. St George Island from sunday 25th to sunday july 2nd was awesome, lots of fried fish, beer, fishing, beach time, and Apalachicola’s ample shopping
3. Augusta from Sunday night to wednesday morning (2nd to 5th, for orientation and a class party) - probably the best part of Augusta was seeing everybody at either orientation, the party, or the july 4th soccer celebrations at Mac’s new house and Pratik’s new house — mac got married and was kind enough to share his house and his leftover wedding cake.
4. Rotation #1 (aka day 1 of the rest of my life) started thursday 7/6 and it’s been nonstop OB/GYN since then… lots of well-woman visits, lots of pre-natal Fetal Heart Rate checkups, an afternoon today of being 2nd assistant during two surgeries (not sure if 2nd assistant is a real position but i was standing next to the first assistant holding retractors and stuff), and a 24 hour day of L&D tomorrow followed by noon-5pm office hours!
See everyone on Thursday evening if I make it that long!
sorry it’s so short, 24: OB edition begins at 0700 tomorrow
